Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is located on the South East coast of Spain and literally translates to “White Coast”, which is well named as it enjoys approximately 240 kilometres (150 miles) of coastline. The coastline has an abundance of golden sandy beaches, beautiful secluded coves and breath-taking cliffs, combined with over 2,800 hours of sunlight each year and average annual temperatures of 19°. It is easy to see why the Costa Blanca is one of the main tourist destinations on the Mediterranean and a very sought-after area for foreign purchasers looking to buy a permanent or holiday home in Spain.

The Costa Blanca extends from the town of Pilar de la Horadada in the south up to Denia in the north and is effectively split into two large distinct areas, the Costa Blanca North and Costa Blanca South.

The types of property vary depending on which region you prefer. The Costa Blanca North offers more properties of an exclusive nature, whilst the Costa Blanca South has a greater availability of land ensuring that properties in the Costa Blanca South are cheaper than similar properties in the Costa Blanca North.

The landscapes in the Northern & Southern regions also differ. In the southern areas the countryside is flatter, and populated with numerous citrus farms, palm groves and miles of sandy beach. The main towns in the South of the province are Santa Pola, Guardamar, Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa. The north of the province has a more rugged terrain with cliffs and coves on the coastline. The most-well known city in the north is Benidorm, but there are also many lovely additional towns to explore such as Denia, Calpe, Villajoyosa and Altea which are all well worth a visit.

Alicante is the largest and capital city in the province and is located on the border between the northern & southern regions of the province.
